Jorge Sueldo

Jorge DJs at Tango Vita milongas and special events.

The responsibility of the DJ is to "read" the crowd. Moreover, the DJ should give a sample of Tango from the '30s ,'40s & '50s.

The DJ sets the mood for the dancers. The selection of different orchestras that would suit different dancing styles will please the dancers and listeners alike. This is because early orchestras emphasize the rhythm making it more rigid (Tanturi, D'Arienzo, Calo, etc.) while the more recent orchestras allow more freedom of expression (Di Sarli, Pugliese, Piazzola, etc.) In general fast rhythms (Milongas & Valses) are played 1/2 as much as tangos. Nuevo Tango or Pseudo Tango can be pleasant as well, in moderation.

The bottom line is: "If the music moves you, then, you may as well dance it"!
